Sorting real refinance offers from aggressive mail aimed at VA homeowners

Checking a VA refinance offer

Safeguard

VA does not mail refinance offers to homeowners. Letters with seals, case numbers or names like an enhancement program usually come from private lenders or marketers. A real offer can still be worth considering, but check the company's license, ask for a Loan Estimate and compare it with others. Federal law limits rapid repeat refinancing of VA loans to protect you.
